featured image settings not responding at all!

    Hi there!

    For this site I am working on I wanted a square featured image on the homepage, and a header featured image on the single. For example
    square: 250px 250px
    header: full width 400px height
    And then just crop it till it fits. I have used this on my other sites but there I had to write the code myself.

    But now I see that this theme offers the option to do exactly what I want. But it is not responding.

    My problems
    The feature images on the homepage are just resizing, not cropping. There fore all the images have different sizes and it just looks sloppy. Even though I did enable the crop option.
    And the header feature image is not even showing at all. Not on posts or pages.

    I am using a child theme. At this point the biggest thing I changed is making the theme full width. But I also tested it with an untouched original theme of tempera, and it’s not working then either.

    Hope anyone can help me out cause I need this to work.
