So I like to have my featured images show up as a large picture, not like a thumbnail. I was able to do this all the way up until my latest post. Now the featured image shows up as a thumbnail.

I do not think I did anything different, and I have been trying for 3 days to figure out what happened. If you go to my site you will see the most recent post has a small thumbnail, the rest are large.

I have made sure that everything is the same size.

One anomaly is that when I edit the misbehaving image in the media library, the editing page includes a box saying “Thumbnail Settings”

When I edit the images that work, they do not include that box.

Again, as far as I can tell, I did everything the same. they are all featured images, they are not inserted in the posts.

The only other difference is that the previous images are royalty free jpgs, while the misbehaving image is a scanned illustration (by me).

Please help! My wife (this is actually her site) is at her wits end!

Okay, I found a thread that solved the problem. Esme was the one who helped, but I can’t find the exact link. You have to go to media-> settings and change the thumbnail to a larger size, then download the plugin thumbnail regenerator. This goes into tools and will either regenerate all thumbnails or, if you go to the media page, a mouse hover will show the option to regenerate a specific media file.

After doing this, the thumbnail now shows up as the large size on her blog poge.

It doesn’t explain why it worked before and didn’t work later, and then we had to do all this to get the same effect. That’s still a mystery.
