Featured Image Option

    I have featured image in all my posts. However, in a few posts, the option to add a featured image is not showing up. For example, in the post “Danube cycle path: Linz to Vienna”, there is no option to add featured image. Please help.

    Are those posts set to the “Standard” post format?

    Yes, they are standard, just like all the other posts.

    @rpiitcbme Try disabling all of your plugins and check if that fixes the issue.

    That did not help either. The option called “set featured image” is just not showing up. I had a blog on wordpress.com also with the same theme. There it is working fine. When I migrated to wordpress.org, I have started noticing these issues.

    @rpiitcbme Can you double check that you’re looking in the location described in this tutorial? https://www.wpbeginner.com/glossary/featured-image/

    That’s right.
    Below tags, I see excerpts instead of featured image. This is only for a few posts like “Trekking trip to Bhutan” and “Danube Cycle path: Linz to Vienna.” in most of the other posts, the option is visible and I have set the featured image, which can be seen in the website.

    @rpiitcbme Can you try to temporarily switch to one of the default themes (like Twenty Twenty-One) and check if the featured image option is visible on those posts then?

    I’m quite a newbie in this WordPress, thus I’m a little apprehensive about doing this switch. Is it possible to retain all the information and formatting regarding menus when I switch back and forth?
