to rule out any theme specific issue, try switching to the unedited default, core-bundled Theme (such as Twenty Fourteen) for a moment using the WP dashboard with ALL plugins off.

the problem is with the back-office and not about displaying the featured image on the front-end of the website.
When clicking on the Featured Image option, on the post editing panel, there’s no behaviour from this funcionality. You click, then choose the photo you want and when hitting “Set as featured image” nothing happens.
Things I’ve tried already:
– Change the PHP version;
– Deactivate all plugins;
– Change theme (even though it doesn’t make sense to me being this a mal function of the back-office).
Any additional ideas?

I’m having the same issue as brunoatwork using a commercial theme. I know this forum isn’t for those using commercial themes and I don’t expect technical help, this is just fyi in the hope this issue is resolved quickly.

to get full attention to your specific issue, my suggestion would be to start your own thread. This was resolved with a plugin update.
Was using WPML with Magic Fields on a legacy version of the WPML. With the update of WP to v3.9.1 it came non-functional.
My advice to anyone having this issue is to check if your core plugins (premium) are updated.
