    Hello,
I’ve just deleted Yoast and installed AIO, hoping to solve the same old problem: posting on social media featured image doesn’t show up. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, same outcomes: Url, meta title and excerpt or description but NO featured image from blog posts.

At least Yoast provided of:image by default whilst AIO doesn’t in the free version. The featured image doesn’t show even if I set up Facebook and Twitter tags for every post. Nothing, nada, niet.

I’m very disappointed since I had the same problem with another domain but I sorted it out by installing Blog2Social.

Hope you can help otherwise I can only uninstall AIO, trying to change WP theme and start all over again.

    Hey @marinobac50,

Your Open Graph data is being output fine, as you can see here – https://a.supportally.com/hBb3TH

I saw your pages were scraped a few hours ago using Facebook’s Sharing Debugger so I assume you’re familiar with it – https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

They are outputting the same issue for all your pages – Provided og:image URL, https://www.marinobaccarini.com/wp-content/uploads/hashtag_history_inventor.jpg could not be processed as an image because it has an invalid content type.

Since you’re running into this with Yoast too, you’re probably running into some sort of server issue. I’d reach out to your hosting provider.

Thank you very much for your useful insight on the server issue. This is the kind of support and replies I really like. I checked the security tools on my cpanel and disabled the hotlink protection stuff. Now I can see the image on Facebook. But sadly nothing on Twitter and LinkedIn.

I’m sorry because I started to like AIO but I must try to reinstall Blog2social and see if it’s the answer to my problems.

    Cheers,

@marinobac50 Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn all cache social snippets, so it’s possible you need to wait a while until the changes are reflected.

Twitter also has a sharing debugger here – https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator?. I used it to clear your cache and now your image appears – https://a.supportally.com/AFvHaf

LinkedIn also has a tool, but they seem to run into an issue still – https://www.linkedin.com/post-inspector/inspect/https:%2F%2Fwww.marinobaccarini.com%2Fpersonal-branding%2Fpersonal-branding-content-curation%2F

    Hello Arnaud,
your replies pushed me to dig deeper, and I found the key to the problem.
I just didn’t need to share using my own WP blog but also third parties platforms like Hootsuite or the like. I also need the social share buttons to work properly for readers.

Then we’ve got a happy ending: I disabled the social buttons of the WP theme and everything now works like a charm.

I had to install Blog2social as well but now I could also try to get rid of it and see if everything still works.

Anyway thanks so much for your support. Just in case I’ll stick to AIO for my new global website because swapping from Yoast to AIO with my Italian blog would be a nightmare losing all meta and keywords.

Again, you’re the best customer care ever! I’ll definitely suggest everyone revert to WP SEO first love, that’s AIO.

    Cheers,

I was having a similar problem – in particular with Facebook. I didn’t have my settings quite right in AIOSEO (which I thought I’d done last time I shared a blog post) but even after fixing them, I was still getting the wrong image in Facebook, even for posts which had previously been shared with the featured image showing correctly. I suspect an update to this plugin has changed something – the ‘social’ section of AIOSEO is now blank on individual posts.

The links given in this post proved helpful to troubleshoot. For the benefit of readers, these are:

    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
    https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator
    https://www.linkedin.com/post-inspector

I could see that Facebook was looking at an old version of my blog article that still had the wrong image. What I didn’t work out was where to go to immediately fix that – is it by clearing my host’s cache? Asking FB to ‘scrape’ again had no effect. (My ‘fix’ was to get interrupted by a phone call – when I came back and tried again, the new version of the page was feeding through with the featured image.)
