That’s not a useful think. Did you see it reference an og:image tag? That’s what it would pull in as an image.
Okay well this is interesting. It’s trying to pull up http://thewholecook.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/In-Defense-of-Mom-Style-Featured-Image.jpg (which gets an error) but when I go to the blog post itself and click on that image the actual URL is http://thewholecook.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/In-Defense-of-Mommy-Style-FEATURED.jpg.
I don’t know why this would happen? Up until a few days ago this shared perfectly on Facebook.
I checked a second blog post in the debugger and got a different issue. The debugger for this post doesn’t pull up any blog post excerpt and it shows no URL (right or wrong) for an image. It’s just blank.
I scraped that second post again and now it’s having the exact same issue as the first one. The URL for the image is incorrect. It’s almost right but for some reason the end of the URL says “Featured-Image.jpg” instead of “FEATURED.jpg”.
I’ve downloaded 2 new plugins around the time this started. One is Facebook by Weblizar and one is Facebook Like Box. Neither has been activated or implemented on the site yet. Could that have caused this? I also started using WP Smush but that was after the issue started.
If they’re not active, they’re not involved.
Try installing Yoast SEO and configure the “social” tab so it provides “og:” tags for Facebook.
I have Yoast and the social tab lists the URLs of my social media accounts including Facebook. When I go into the Facebook tab it’s all empty but it looks like that content would only be for when I share a blog post that doesn’t include an image? All of my posts have images. The problem I’m having is getting my featured image to display when I share. What am I missing?
I do have “Add Open Graph Meta Data” enabled if that’s what you’re asking me to do.

It’s pulling up my profile image now instead of the blog post featured image. I think it’s because I’ve scraped it a few times. For the past few times it’s been pulling up no image at all (until I rescraped it this morning).
All of the other posts I’m running through the debugger show no image at all even though I have a featured image for each post.

Well, I can see that it’s telling FB to use http://thewholecook.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/In-Defense-of-Mommy-Style-FEATURED.jpg, but FB isn’t. When I share it on my FB page, it offers two images, the image from the sidebar and the featured image.
In any case, WordPress is working as it should. Facebook, as it tends to be, is doing whatever it wants to do.
Hi All,
I’m haveing the same problem. I have three WP sites and just recently, images are not showing up in Facebook when I add a link to share my stuff.
I have changed nothing and doing all the same things I’ve always done. There is a featured image, I have an image in the post and I have the image uploaded into the area in the Yoast plugin and it’s the right size.
It is happening on three of my WP sites. Can someone help me with this?
