featured image not available when uploading images

    If I go to the”Screen Options” on the top right I do not even have “featured image” listed. I thought this was standard in WordPress 3.31?

    It is but not all theme’s support featured images. Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    yes it was the theme, but the theme supports it so i’m not sure what is amiss
