# Featured Image lost with short code

 * I am using a short code to put a slide show on my home page. I like the look 
   of the widget and found the code
 * [strong slideshow show_for=”5″ effect_for=”.5″]
 * but using this one looses the featured image. Is there a better option?

 * Most of the shortcode attributes act like switches. Add “thumbnail” like so:
 *     ```
       [strong thumbnail slideshow show_for="5" effect_for=".5"]
       ```
