    Hi 🙂
My posts, in general, have a featured image set. However, I noticed today that this image is not showing up. So for example for the currently newest post (Craignure – Salen) the image is set via the “Set Featured Image” – nicely uploaded to the folder where it belongs, even shows in the post-editor in the “Set Featured Image” section, but not on the main page.
Some posts even show only a blue question mark in the “Set Featured Image” section of the post editor (rotating the image a couple of times and saving it new in the uploader seems to sort that out).

What I found by analyzing the code is that the code for the featured image now looks somewhat like this:

    <a href=”https://www.blog.lilleulven.com/travelstories/scotland/cycling-sailing-scotland-salen/” rel=”bookmark”>
    <img src=”https://i2.wp.com/www.blog.lilleulven.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/20170825_130532_Scotland-e1532109812640.jpg?resize=704%2C468&ssl=1″ class=”attachment-nisarg-full-width size-nisarg-full-width wp-post-image” alt=”” srcset=”https://i2.wp.com/www.blog.lilleulven.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/20170825_130532_Scotland-e1532109812640.jpg?w=704&ssl=1 704w, https://i2.wp.com/www.blog.lilleulven.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/20170825_130532_Scotland-e1532109812640.jpg?resize=300%2C199&ssl=1 300w, https://i2.wp.com/www.blog.lilleulven.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/20170825_130532_Scotland-e1532109812640.jpg?resize=406%2C270&ssl=1 406w” sizes=”(max-width: 704px) 100vw, 704px” width=”704″ height=”468″> </a>

So all image urls are pre-fixed with an i2.wp.com/ while the image itself gets an url of “https://www.blog.lilleulven.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/20170825_130532_Scotland-e1532109812640.jpg?w=704&ssl=1”, which would work properly.

In private mode Firefox and Opera seem to be able to find the image, but Safari and Chrome are not. In “normal” mode none of these browsers, despite deleting the cache have been able to find the image.

After deactivation of Jetpack the image urls are correct again (without the i2.wp.com -prefix) and the Featured Image is working just fine. – All other plugins are activated and the error does not show, so it seems to be an issue of Jetpack version 6.3.2.

Could you help me fix this somehow, I really would like to continue to use Jetpack…

    Thanks for your help!

You can continue to use Jetpack without using the Image CDN. Can you try reconnecting this site to WordPress.com via Jetpack and then disabling Photon here?

    https://www.blog.lilleulven.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack_modules

If you want to continue to use the Jetpack Image CDN and determine the cause of the issue, some troubleshooting will be required. Please see if the problem persists when only Jetpack is active and you’re using a default theme.

Health Check is a tool that can be useful for debugging, though it requires an official default theme like Twenty Seventeen:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/

    https://wordpress.org/themes/twentyseventeen/

On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you while you’re logged in to that session without affecting normal visitors to your site.

Once we get some feedback, we can take the next troubleshooting step in resolving your issue!

Thank you so much for your help, @pmciano.
I’ll see to get the troubleshooting done latest during the weekend.

Here comes Murphy’s law… I ran the troubleshooting mode with Jetpack and Photon activated and the feature-images showed as if nothing ever happened. So I turned off the troubleshooting mode, still having Jetpack and Photon activated…and the Featured images still show. I haven’t made any other changes to the plugins or their settings in the last four days – except for updating the troubleshooting plugin this morning.
Some sort of connection issues that lasted a little over a week?
I guess I will try again once the error occurs again – which hopefully is never in the first place.

    Thanks for your help @pmciano.

    Have a great Sunday!

We’re glad the images are showing again, regardless of whether Jetpack and Photon are activated.

Hopefully! But if the issue resurfaces, let us know, and we will be glad to continue helping you.

    Thanks for your help @pmciano.

You’re welcome for the support, and keep posting those wonderful pictures!

Thank you, @pmciano. I can promise some very good photos for the future indeed. When the Scottish Adventure finishes I will go on with photos & stories from Iceland and then (if I can manage to write something good up) there shall be Bulgaria next year.
