Support » Theme: Writr » Featured image display from top to bottom?

  • Resolved design_studio

    Hi there! I am trying for a few days to find solution to this but no success so far. I am using featured images for standard posts and they are always cut from the sides and the focus stays on the center of the image. They also look like they are zoomed to 120% and this is too much. I know that part of this might come from wordpress and the way images are displayed but I’ve tried all the hacks and tricks, plugins and even messed with media.php in wp-includes. Tried different ratio images as well. None of this has result. So I thought it might be something from the theme settings – I see there is some code for the featured images in function.php, but not sure if that is everything.
    Basically I want to display the image from top to bottom without top being cut and image zoomed. Is it possible?
    As I am working offline can’t provide any link, but I can make screenshots if that will be helpful. Probably its worth to mention that I tried every single possible solution with clean install of the WP and the theme with no plugins and just 3 posts with featured images – but no positive result. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

  • I found the solution or at least the one which works for me. I can’t edit my first post so here it is.
    It seems that the “trouble” for me was caused by a top margin for entry-thumbnail class.
    Adding this to my child theme resolved my issue:

    /* Entry thumbnail */
    .entry-thumbnail {
    	margin-top: 0px;
