    Shashin does not currently work with featured images. Shashin shows images that are on Google+, Youtube, etc – it does not store them locally. Featured images need to be stored locally. I have a to-do item to make Shashin work with featured images (by “sideloading” them). I could probably make it work with random images, but it would mean downloading a new random image each time, which is probably not a good idea for performance reasons.
