Support » Theme: Shell Lite » Featured button, removing text and using only image

  • Hi,

    I’m an amateur making a web site for a family company.
    Shell lite works great for it, and it’s quite simple to modify even though I’m new to WP and css/php.

    My question is about the featured button with “call to action”. I replaced the button image with my own image, which already contains a text logo.

    But how can I remove the “call to action”/any other text inserted there? Now the text hovers over my logo button. If I replace the text with ” ” the button won’t work correctly any more.

    I tried removing different lines of code related to the button text in my front-page.php child theme, but did not succeed to remove the text so that the button link would still work. How could I do this?

  • Hi Monterra,

    Try to put   in “Featured Button (Text)” instead of ” “.
    Let me know if this works for you or we will try something different.

    Hi, thanks for the reply!

    After some googling I also solved it by this, the text is hidden completely now from on top of the button image via opacity:

    .featured-button a {
    	opacity: 0; /* CSS 3 for Firefox and Opera*/
    	filter: alpha(opacity=0); /* proprietary Microsoft CSS for Internet Explorer */
