    Hello,

Your plugin is amazing — I love it & how it enables me to sell in decimals (I sell food by the gram).

I’ve played around with the plugin for a few hours today and got to know it on my local test site. I’d love to share some feature requests with you based on my time with the plugin 🙂

    1) Complement the Dropdown/Select quantity input type with a “range”/”slider” input type
I’m curious if you are able to expand the functionality of this plugin from dropdown/selectbox to also include slider quantity input.

I’ve previously used the WooCommerce Extra Product Options tool (– a pretty powerful plugin) to enable this feature on a previous site. They used a very pretty framework (noui slider) to enable this.
I recognize that the “dropdown” quantity input field type is one of the neatest features of this plugin, and I think that adding additional input-style options is right up the plugin’s alley. I’m thinking that you’re in a very advantageous position to add such feature since the min/max/step infrastructure is already set up on the back-end.

    2) Customize text before/after the original price
Currently, the plugin assumes we’re selling quantity in “pieces”, but sometimes we’re selling by weight or measurements, and want to allow the user to select how many grams they’d like to buy of a specific product.
A current workaround made possible by the plugin is under the “Price Display by Quantity” section. Users can leverage the template to add these call-outs to the dropdown options.
Perhaps this same tab can include this requested feature if pursued?

Additionally, I’m not sure if the pro version allows for this just yet, but it would be pretty cool to allow the users to apply specific suffixes or changes based on products or product categories. (sometimes stores might sell a mix of products in mg, g, and kg, and would have them listed under diff. categories). For example, one could append, “/gram”, so that the product page reads, “$price/gram”. Or, if they add “Price is ” before the price element, then the price would read, “Price is”.
    – Edit after finishing draft: I think this would also apply to the “Quantity Info Options” tab. There are some products I might want to exclude from making this call out on. (much lower priority though)
Also, I recognize that there are html and shortcodes available, but I’m thinking about this from an app compatibility perspective — I plan on using a composite product wizard, and want these call-outs only on products showing up in the wizard.
I would use shortcodes, but the wizards sometimes exclude product descriptions.

    3) Pro Features Question
This is moreso of a question than a feature request. I haven’t committed to buying pro just yet, but I’m close.
The question is around the behavior of Pro. When purchased, and if you want to make min/max/step/fixed changes to specific products or entire categories, is there a separate admin tab/portal that allows for this?
The subtitles on the admin page say, “This will add meta box to each product’s edit page.”
While a meta box is definitely useful for sites that are just setting up (like mine), I would think that a separate admin tab would offer a lot more flexibility and a smoother experience for end users.
They would be able to create a new rule for “min”, “max”, “step”, “fixed” (and possibly the feature recommended at point #2) all in one page for multiple categories or products.

    4) “Step” Pro Feature
As I clicked through each of the options and assessed how this plugin would fit in my site, I noticed that the “step” option did not list any pro functionality that allows users to add to specific products / categories. Is this feature available, but hidden?
If not, is this a limitation with the way the step feature works? Independent control across categories/products would be pretty important for me.
If there are plans to implement, I’m on board with purchasing!

    5) Plugin Compatibility Question
I’ve toyed around with a few composite product plugins and recently purchased Woocommerce Product Wizard.
I’ve confirmed that the dropdown quantity selector works within the wizard (so it seems to be hooking on just fine). However, the “Price Display by Quantity” template option from the Product Quantity app doesn’t display on the wizard. I think I previously came across a different quantity plugin (inferior), but it showed the total price call-out.
Could this be a problem with how this information is passed?
I’d love to share with you my site, but it’s on my local PC and not yet hosted. The best I can do is point you towards a demo of the composite product maker.
You can see how the composite product maker handles products here. At the very bottom of the page, under “bottle cage”, you have the quantity input field. When I tested your plugin, it changed the input fields to dropdown and respected the min/max/step settings. However, I didn’t see the quantity price changes (before, after, or replace) take effect when applied. They worked as expected on the product page though :).
Also, with the plugin, the only other issue (minor) that I had, in terms of compatibility, is that it is passing the first product’s selected quantity to the cart for the entire kitted product.
(A kitted product is made out of individual products, and the kit category quantity is defaulting to the quantity of the first child product)

I just realized that I wrote you a book. I apologize for the lengthy post, but your plugin has me excited (at 1:30am…). I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the above and trying out pro once I get a little more on my site firmed up!

    Thanks so much 🙂

This is one of the most comprehensive feedback I’ve ever received! Thanks a lot for putting the time to provide it.

    As for #1:
I’m not sure how feasible it is, and how it will be compatible with the current dropdown, if you have an image that shows how it looks like, I would love to see it.

    2#:
Believe it or not, but I just saw your comment, and 10 minutes ago, I released a new version where you can define %unit% that can be shown next to Total Price by Quantity feature! Exactly the way you described it! Feel free to test version 2.3 to see it.

    #3:
The meta field on pro version is configurable on product & category basis, so you can set those on product level (you have to go one by one), or on category if they all share the same settings, I hope I can find more ways to make it easier based on demands.

    #4:
Step is configurable on product-level, and it’s there on Quantity Step section “Per Product”, not sure why you can’t see it, maybe check again?

    #5:
I think this happens because the price display by quantity is configured to work on product-level, and won’t be fully compatible with wizards like the one you mentioned, not sure how this can be done, but I always develop features based on default WooCommerce features & settings, integrating all 3rd party plugins will be a bit hard.

Again, thanks a lot for all what you’ve wrote, I was really happy going through it once & again.

    Best,
    Omar
