It may be possible to reverse access that folder and instead of just using the NGG interface, we may be able to utilize the Media Library Interface. * If that is what you are talking about, then we will check on it. However, we are still looking at reviewing the new NGG 2.X before we do anything else, as it has been highly buggy and incompatible with many other plugins and themes. * I will tell you this much. I completely understand and agree with your need to wait for NGG 2.0 stability. I was looking at this from the perspective of one of my clients, who is a painter and print maker. What I am attempting to give her is a simple method of keeping her site up to date. So, yes I was suggesting that it would be nice to use the media library as the only upload vehicle and then have an option in the media library interface or the media menu to launch your interface for adding images to the Next Gen galleries. In that way I can remove the Add Gallery/Images menu option from NGG and she never sees the NGG upload option. This would simplify her workflow so all images go into the media library where she can use them in blog posts, and other pages but use your interface to move (copy) those she wants to put in her galleries. She can then use the NGG Manage Gallery option to create new galleries and manipulate images in them( transfer/remove/caption etc.). I realise this causes duplication of images in the media library and the NGG galleries but, unlike photographic sites, her images are likely only to amount to hundreds of pictures so the duplication is not a big overhead. Unfortunately we don’t know if we will even be able to continue our Addon for the 2.X version at all. In their infinite wisdom, NGG has gotten rid of many of the hooks that are essential for tying into the plugin. * As a result, we may be forced to abandon the future release, and only leave this one up for those who continue to use the legacy version. We originally developed this addon per my own request to simplify the process of using NGG on one of MY client’s sites. * It seems as if NGG is trying to lock its users into only using its plugin and extensions. The new NextGEN Gallery Media Library Addon 2, will in fact do what you want, and likely only what you want, to avoid conflicts with the NGG 2.X interface. * I won’t elaborate any further on our plans, as this will likely be released as a separate plugin and will likely be a Pro release. * However, since you brought upon this idea, even though our method will be somewhat different, I will still award you free licensing for contributing to the idea. * Since I believe many people are going to continue to use the latest stable 1.9.13 version, of which this plugin addon still works for correctly…we are going to probably stop production of any further features for this FREE version, unless we can find the features of great value to the users and there are still a large number of people using this version. * And because we will have to also deal with NGG 2.X Pro Version, then the version 2 of this plugin that goes along with it, is going to have to be Pro in order to justify the time on keeping up with NGG 2.X development. * This is unfortunate, since so many people find our addon useful. * Depending on its depth, we plan on keeping the Pro 2.X version below $20 USD.
