• Hi,

thanks for your great work on the plugin!

I would like to use title=”year” to create subheadings, but currently it seems only possible to display years ascendingly (i.e. oldest first). Would it be possible to add an option “year-descending” or similar?

    Thanks,
    Mathis

Have you tried the order attribute?

According to the help, that would only affect “sortby”, not “title”.

OK, I just played around a little more.

Our original aim was to have subheadings for years, but sortby=”author” within years. I assumed this was possible because of the help text under Display > title (“Note: The “order” and “sortby” attributes will act as a secondary sort”).

I now realized that if you combine sortby=”author” and title=”year”, the headings instead get sorted by author. The way to go for us seems to be [zotpress title=”year” sortby=”date” order=”desc”], even if we lose alphabetical order within the yearly sections.

Glad you found a way forward!

I’m afraid I have to reopen this.

I just noticed that combining [zotpress title=”year” sortby=”date” order=”desc”] sorts the headings correctly (recent years first), but order within the yearly section is reversed (oldest first). Sorting the entries descendingly works correctly when title=”year” is left out of the shortcode.
