Support » Plugin: PowerPress Podcasting plugin by Blubrry » Feature Request: Scheduled Import for Podcasts

  • My client aggregates podcast shows from a number of hosts – as such, we would like to be able to schedule the import of new shows us the PowerPress plugin.

We are importing the shows into posts that are displayed on the aggregated site. Right now my client has to manually import any new shows.

We would love to be able to maintain a table of podcast feeds (from a variety of sources) and set an update schedule whereupon any new episodes are automatically imported and the associated posts created.

    Thanks
    Michelle

    Hello Michelle,

Unfortunately, PowerPress is not designed to pull in content programmatically. The user interaction during import is critical to handle errors if they were to happen and also to make sure data is imported correctly for migration.

If I understand you correctly, you simply want to use WordPress with PowerPress to be a 2nd point of presence for the podcasts?

    Thanks,
    Angelo

Unfortunately, PowerPress doesn’t do this kind of import automatically. If it’s a feature you’d like to see in a future version, please file a ticket that will be forwarded to the dev team:
    https://www.blubrry.com/contact/
Click “Select” under “All Other Inquiries” and click the option for “Feedback.” Fill out the form and it will be forwarded to the correct team members.

EDIT: Looks like Angelo and I were typing replies at the same time. He’s the developer of the plugin, so I guess he’s already aware of your situation. 🙂
