Support » Plugin: Photonic Gallery & Lightbox for Flickr, SmugMug, Google Photos & Others » Feature request: Pretty Links for WP archive images

  • Hi,
thanks for your great lightbox plugin. Displaying dynamic MLA (Media Library Assistant) galleries using Photonic works well except their Pretty Links extension has no effect. It would be great to have a similar configuration option available within Photonic to shorten image archive links from WP. Is that possible or how else could I achieve this?
    Thanks,
    Henning

I don’t think these are related concepts – in Photonic you are viewing the photo in a lightbox, which is an HTML element on your current page, but a pretty link is a link to a different page altogether. HTTP rewrite rules that are required for features such as pretty links cannot be applied to elements within the same page.

I see from your other posts that you want this. David is correct in his observation that unless you are using the [mla_gallery] shortcode, the respective filters will not be triggered.

To be honest, I don’t know if these can be integrated, since these are two separate plugins with their own load sequence. If I try to apply a custom filter from MLA (I believe it is mla_gallery_item_values), that might lead to undesirable and unexpected results.

Thanks for your immediate answer. Looks like I should give up the idea though.
