Support » Plugin: GDPR Cookie Compliance (CCPA, DSGVO, Cookie Consent) » Feature request: Let 3rd part cookies be enabled before accept

  • Hi, and thank you for a great plugin! Works really great.
I have a feature request though:

Can you add an option (checkmark?) under the 3rd part cookie section, that allows the code/scripts in there to be run, even when the user did not yet press “accept”. This way, people need to say no instead of yes. (So they are accepting cookies if they dont do anything and continue to use the site).

And ofcourse disable the button by default.

  • Hi,
This is against the GDPR, which is very clear about that: consents must be unaccepted by default. You have to ask for the user’s consent (the request/sentence should be very clear) and the user has to click to accept it.
Doing it the other way around would make the GDPR plugin non-compliant.
Nevertheless, I understand your point of view and find this old way of doing thing very nice.

    Hi there,

Thanks for your comments. I can confirm the requested feature is included in the latest version, you can select the 3rd party cookies to be enabled by default. The user can disable from the modal.

    I hope this helps.
