Hello Carsten,
Although this sounds like a great feature, I don’t think it will be covered by this plugin.
Options for Twenty Seventeen is here to modify features that are very specific to this particular theme whereas an email form within the content of the home page seems to me to be more of a feature that could be delivered by a theme independent plugin.
For example, if you used Contact Form 7 to create your enquiry form with a short code or a widget, you could then style the form to your requirements?

Hello Oliver. Thank your for your reply… The issue is, that I want the box to appear on the picture of the start page. And I can’t find a fast solution (outside for example of using elementor, which is consuming to much ressources). So I hoped to find someone who is interessted in my idea and could do it directly in html…with low consumption of ressources.
Contact Form 7 and all the other “big forms” consume a lot of ressources and really slow down the webpage…. I prefer using the very fast plugin “Very simple contact form” which works pretty fast and gave all my websites a real push forward in google, after I deleted “Contact Form 7” and used “Very simple contact form” instead….
Twenty seventeen is so fast…and pretty nice… I don’t want to loose the performance….
So, thank you for your reply. Carsten
Hi Carsten,
OK, do you mean that you want to see the form over the top of the Header image?
If so, why not use the Header Sidebar feature of Options for Twenty Seventeen and insert a widget into the sidebar with the contact form?
Oliver
Hi Oliver,
ääähm… this is not directly what I intended…. but it could finally come to nearly the same result……???…
Do you know a website where this option is activated …. as your free plugin does not offer this solution….. and I would like to take a view/first impression to make sure, if this leads in the end to my idea to integrate a “fast contact form” which is more ore less “flying” over the picture on the start page…. like it is done in impressive way in this rara theme https://de.wordpress.org/themes/lawyer-landing-page/
Regards Carsten
How about the influence on speed and number of requests if I integrate your plugin… I always try to reduce the load as low as possible to make sure, that the website is very fast….
see wwww.scheidung-in-potsdam.de oor http://www.die-familienkanzlei.com
because this was the way to leave all our competitors in google behind us… and to be in google in Potsdam always on top in all things regarding family law cases….
Normaly my speed in pingdom is 320 ms and 11 requests…. after activating your trial version it went directly up to 680 ms in pingdom… so I switched it off… will try later again…
Carsten
Hi Carsten,
Anything you add to a WordPress site that requires more CPU processing is going to slow a site down as I’m sure you know.
If you can achieve what you want without compromising CPU time and therefore page-load speed then obviously that would be most desirable … but unlikely.
To counter this, I’m sure you are aware there are lots of things that can be done to speed a site up, caching, minifying, merging, faster servers, etc.
Oliver
Beautiful website, good styling idea…if it is done with your solution…..great looking…
But these guys should try pingdom… and in the end use a faster provider and gzip everything…or use at minimum cloudflare free account… would give them a good push in google..
Regards
Thank you Carsten, I’ll pass on your compliments and recommendations.
Oliver
Although I think I shouldn’t support people who make money on other people’s misfortune, I’d suggest that you cache your websites through a CDN like cloudflare. Even the free version is already impressive:
One of my websites has lots of images in carrousels to load (artistic stuff is more demanding for eye-food) and cloudflare brings the load time down from 3.54s (worst case) to 202ms (best case / all cache hits).
A lot of our clients use Cloudflare 🙂
