My forum website gets a fair number of gif files embedded within comments. Some of these files are several megabytes in size, and as a result the page can take a long time to load, especially if there are multiple gifs.
I would like to suggest adding gif playback controls to the core WP commenting system, which will automatically add a play/pause button when it detects that kind of file format. If it’s part of the core, then it will (theoretically) work with alternative comment systems as well.
Cheers
