I’d like to suggest that a section be added to the discussion settings in wordpress.
It would be great if blog owners could give instructions to people who wanted to comment on their posts. Say for example you want to indicate that all comments are moderated and to please keep them appropriate and not to include links in the comment but only in the URL field.
I think this would cut right back on cr*ppy comments left merely to create backlinks because people who intended to include links in their comments would probably decide against doing so if they thought the comment would be moderated.
