Feature Request: Fake Bing Bot Blocker

  • There is currently a feature “Immediately block fake Google crawlers”, which we appreciate.

Currently, I am battling fake Bing Bots that are hitting the site, and am wondering if there is any possibility of adding fake Bing Bot blockers. Log example:

    65.49.9.35 – – [13/Mar/2013:10:46:52 -0500] “GET /wp-login.php HTTP/1.1” 200 2309 “-” “Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; bingbot/2.0; +http://www.bing.com/bingbot.htm)”
    65.49.9.35 – – [13/Mar/2013:10:46:52 -0500] “GET /wp-admin/ HTTP/1.1” 301 243 “-” “Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; bingbot/2.0; +http://www.bing.com/bingbot.htm)”
    65.49.9.35 – – [13/Mar/2013:10:46:52 -0500] “GET /wp-admin/ HTTP/1.1” 302 – “-” “Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; bingbot/2.0; +http://www.bing.com/bingbot.htm)”

65.49.9.35 is absolutely not a “Bing Bot”.

    Thanks for considering it!
