Hi! First of all: Amazing work with the latest “Post Type” Extension. I have some ideas which would make it even better – at least for me.

I am using the Plugin to also upload pictures I’m using in blogposts but I don’t want a new portfolio item to be created for them. I could place them in the root folder, but I want to sort things. So what do you think about the possibility to be able to say “I only want a portfolio item to be created, when it’s a subfolder of a specific folder (e.g. the post type name)”. That way I could just create a folder “portfolio” and for every subfolder in this specific folder a portfolio item would be created.

A second thing is that I have keywords I don’t want a taxonomy to be created for. So it’s kind of the same here: It would be great to limit the taxonomy creation to a specific branch of my keyword tree or just keywords with a specific prefix (and cut that prefix in wordpress).

All those for sure optional so for others it would work the way it does now, too. Probably as “advanced options” for the extension.

Let me know what you think! 🙂

    Hi,

The option would be complicated to explain. I guess this should be more on the Lightroom side. I could have option on folder and collection and we could avoid there the information relative to the folder/collection itself to be shared with WP. Would it be better?

A second thing is that I have keywords I don’t want a taxonomy to be created for. So it’s kind of the same here: It would be great to limit the taxonomy creation to a specific branch of my keyword tree or just keywords with a specific prefix (and cut that prefix in wordpress).

Same, I think that should be on LR side. Do you know you can setup keyword already? You can choose not to export them and in that case they will not be appearing on WP. Did you knew?

    Hey Jordy,

I absolutely agree it’s better to be managed in LR. I just didn’t think about this possibility. 😀

I knew I can avoid keywords being exported but I didn’t knew I can define if they should be exported or not. Interesting, thanks! That would in fact solve the second problem for now 🙂 I would still prefere to be able to define for each publish service which keyword branch should be used for the taxonomy. That way I could export the same image to two different publish services with different taxonomy.

Okay 🙂 I will mark this as resolved for now. On my side, I add this to my to do list 🙂
