Support » Plugin: My Custom Functions » Feature Request: delete data on uninstall.

    Hi Authur,

First off, great plugin! We (the team at GiveWP) recommend it for all folks who want to add custom snippets.

I have an issue on a customer’s site though that I thought I’d run past you:

If a bad snippet is uploaded that white-screens the site, and they manually go in and deactivate your plugin (instead of following the instructions on your pinned support request, they just go brute-force and change the name of the folder, or deactivate it with wpcli, or something) and then go to reactivate it, there will (obviously, since there is a fatal error in there somewhere) not update.

So I hopped in and completely uninstalled your plugin, hoping that it would delete the errant custom code, and then I could reinstall your plugin, activate it, and be good to go.

Unfortunately, it looks like the custom code is not deleted on uninstall.

So that’s my feature request: on complete uninstall, have your plugin delete out the custom code, so that it starts fresh on a reinstall. Here’s the section of the plugin handbook that runst through that:

Thanks again for a great plugin benefitting so many in the WP space!
