First of all, thank you very much for taking over the maintenance of this great plugin, I’ve been using it for a number of years. I would like to make one suggestion, though.
When uploading or importing images for a gallery, I would like to NOT have the AltText default to the file name. Oftentimes, the file name looks something like DSCF0377.jpg, and that’s not what I want displayed to my users, I’d rather not have a title at all. So if you could add an option to not set the AltText on upload, or add a Bulk Action to “Clear AltText/Title,” that would be greatly appreciated. Actually, I seem to remember that that’s the way Next-Gen used to work, that the AltText was empty by default; maybe the feature to set it to the file name was added during some later release?
The AltText can be manually deleted through the Manage Gallery page, but when someone uploads over a hundred images for a particular gallery, like I often do, that can be very time-consuming. The way I clear them now is by going into the wp_ngg_pictures table and set alttext to NULL based on the galleryid, but I don’t think the majority of your users are going to want to muck around in MySQL.
Thanks again very much.
