 * This is already possible using a filter.
 * You can use the `advanced_excerpt_content` filter to wrap the excerpt in a custom
   paragraph or div wrapper element.

 * Yes but for the less technical users who like to type it into an input box in
   the settings page it would still be cool no?

 * We’ll definitely consider adding this in an upcoming release. Let me know if 
   you have any problems implementing a CSS class using our filter.
