  • This is already possible using a filter.

    You can use the advanced_excerpt_content filter to wrap the excerpt in a custom paragraph or div wrapper element.

    Yes but for the less technical users who like to type it into an input box in the settings page it would still be cool no?

    We’ll definitely consider adding this in an upcoming release. Let me know if you have any problems implementing a CSS class using our filter.
