I’d like the ability to customize the WordPress login form more easily. I know I can write custom CSS to override everything, but all I want to do is swap in a custom logo and change the color scheme to match the theme. Being able to swap in something like --wp-color-primary to change the blues to red, for example, would be wonderful.

There are already suitable plugins for replacing the logo: https://wordpress.org/plugins/change-login-logo/ – they use the possibilities that WordPress already offers for this. However, this graphic cannot be replaced using CSS.
