Support » Plugin: MailPoet - emails and newsletters in WordPress » Feature Request – Backend Email Address Check Before Subscribing to a List

  • I investigate bounced email and found something like that “@gamil.com” “@gmail.cim” “@gmai.com” “@gmailo.com” “@gnail.com” – correct is @gmail.com

    @alo.com – correct is @aol.com

    Can I manually send them confirmation email by correcting their typing mistake? or maybe you can write code to verify the address before subscribing to the list? If you can do that it will be very interesting.

    Thank you so much

    Hi there Moshin,

    You shouldn’t correct them and send a confirmation email as it may have been a bot or someone trying to signup addresses that may not have wanted to be part of the list. We’d recommend deleting them.

    There’s no way to verify that an address is a valid mailbox at signup. But there are various libraries in Javascript you could use, one is called “MailCheck” these just check for common typos as you’ve mentioned and can be added to various forms.

    Thanks!

    Do you have an article about MailCheck?

    Hi there @mohsinworld,

    We don’t, but here’s the Github repo: https://github.com/mailcheck/mailcheck.

    Thanks!
