Support » Plugin: BackWPup - WordPress Backup Plugin » Feature request: allow to send backups to more than one email destinations

I really find this an useful feature. Currently, the plugin is simply filtering the ; or , chars if I type two emails in the address field (in the format address1@nnnn.com;address2@nnnn.com). It should ignore the ; or , separator and that would allow to receive a copy of the backups when the website has several admins, or an admin and an owner.

It’s just about ignoring a character which cannot harm the system. It’s an easy one 🙂

Hope others second this and you can implement it soon.

    Thank you!

  • No response from the developers on this (and someone else asked about it a month later: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/job-email-address ). So, all we can do is set up a forwarding email address that forwards to two or more email addresses.

    Cheers

Yep, nightrider, that is what I’m doing by now, forwarders. But when it comes to handle lots of WP sites, it’s annoying.

Did you men the BAckup to E-Mail or the emailing of the log file?

Thanks, Daniel, for pointing out the distinction. I didn’t read the original post carefully enough. Because my backups are almost always too large to email, I actually only need the email of the log file to go to more than one address.

Emailing logfile to more than one reciver will be in the next version.

    Super excellent, Daniel. Thanks!

Hello Daniel, it’s ok if logs can be sent to more than one destination. I bet the same kind of while loop used to explode the comma separated list of destinations may be used to send the backup files, too.

I am webmaster for several sites and some owners want to receive the backup files, too. So, if you can add the expand of comma separated emails in the backup destination, will be great. In fact, that is the main purpose of the original thread.

I’ll be around to see whenever an update is rolled out to test it.
    Thanks!

I think for Backup destination it is better to set up a extra job or copy and edit the other. Because the E-Mail file size can be differnt for the mail reciver.

ok, but setting an extra job will require to repear the backup process. It’s an inneficient usage of resources. I think I’ll stick to use forwarders by now to workaround it.
    Thanks anyway.
