Support » Plugin: Jetpack Post Views » Feature request: Add view count in the pages and other taxonomies. Maybe?

  • I see the great feature that you added last week to allow see how many views have every post in the posts screen. Very useful! Is it possible to enable this functionality in the pages screen? and what about categories and tags? That information may be useful to shed light and insight about visits in internal sections of the website. For pages at least, it will come in handy, because WordPress is also being used as a CMS more than a blog, so there are lots of WordPress powered websites which only use pages, not posts 😉
    Thanks!

The plugin only focuses on posts and ignores pages completely. I’m not sure if I want to change that just yet or not.

As for categories and tags, I don’t really categorize post by categories and tags. It would be difficult to figure out which posts have what tags and belong to which category and then filter them enough to get data.

Ok, I can live without knowing about other taxonomies, but as long as JetPack itself is measuring visits for pages and posts, it would be a nice detail to having the choice to allow or not to show only posts or show posts+pages in the ranking with this widget. I’m just saying… 🙂
