Hey again JonRosenSystems. Assuming I understand correctly what you’re going for here, this should be an existing feature already. Check it out: http://wpshindig.com/events/. The calendar there has a broader next/previous functionality for the months, and then if you click into a given event, at the bottom of the description you’ll see next/previous links to go to the next/previous event.

    Had you envisioned something different?

I’m looking for the next & previous events listed at the bottom of the page to be prefixed with “Next:” and “Previous:” instead of just the event name alone.

Ah, that should definitely be doable via a quick template override. You ever given one a go? You would basically create a copy of the template, make the change you want, and the plugin would pull that modified file going forward instead of the ‘stock’ file. Details on the process are here: http://tri.be/faq/what-are-template-overrides-and-how-do-i-do-them/.

Hope that helps. Let me know if it doesn’t.

I could do that, but I’d prefer to see the next & previous added to the template for everyone.

    Hi JonRosenSystems,

This is likely something we won’t be changing in the plugin. It’s easily editable in the same way you would edit the prev/next links in WordPress: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/previous_post_link

To edit the single events template, just make a copy of /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/views/single.php and place in an ‘events’ folder in your theme and make the changes you want.

    I hope that helps,
    Jonah
