# Feature Request

 * I am currently working on a site where the design calls for multiple sizes of
   images that use the same base x-y proportion.
    The obvious, quick solution would
   be to simply make all of these sizes be their own custom field. This would require
   the user to select the image X times and crop the image X times. And if the exact
   same view of the image is desired, some extra time would be needed to ensure 
   greater accuracy (which would honestly never be perfect). For a more optimal 
   data-entry experience it would nice to have only one custom field with multiple
   sizes specified for a single proportion. The user would have to only select one
   image, and crop the desired section of the image once, and then the plugin would
   save not only one size, but go through some scaling calculations to save out 
   the several specified sizes according to the base proportion, capturing the same
   area of the image. This would also make a difference for load times, avoiding
   loading larger images that necessary.

 * Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
 * Actually (if I understand you correctly) that is in fact what happens unless 
   you choose to not save cropped images to the media library. When the image is
   cropped a new media item is generated thus generating all relevant image sizes
   as with any media upload. So if you have the various sizes registered as image
   sizes, what you’re trying to achieve should be possible.
