    Hi,

I would like to see you add an optin option for autoresponders. I would like to see a different style. Instead of the person having to put in their email address the opting feature would grab the default email address and send that to the autoresponder. I know in html the mailto: command will do this but it pops up the email program. It would be nice if this was all transparent after the person clicked on the subscribe link. The reason there is a need for this feature is because many either by accident or intentionally enter the incorrect email address. Usually opting in to a mail list that is associated with a free offer.

    Thanks,

    Philip

    Philip,

Thanks for the feedback! I’d love to understand your request better so we can perhaps include it in our next release. Let me ask a few questions:

    1. Are you wanting the email that the plugin sends to go to some “default” email address?
    2. Where would that email address be set?

We have a couple of features coming out this week that may address your need:

    1. You will be able to set the To, CC, and BCC fields manually for each email
    • This can be either the email address the user enters on the contact form, or anything else you’d like
    • You will be able to send multiple emails per contact form – this is helpful when you want to send a thank you email to the user AND an email to an admin to follow up, etc
    • Would these features help your needs?

I think you are missing what I was saying. This is a different concept. The person doesn’t enter their email address. The coding in the feature would grab the persons defauld email address simply by them clicking on a link that can say click her for more info or what ever. This eliminates incorrect email addresses being added to an autoresponder and makes the list a much better list. In html there is a simple code mailto: but this open up the email program. This feature should work with out the email program poping up.

    Philip,

I understand what you are asking now. However, there is no way with current web technologies to grab someone’s email address from their computer without them entering it.

This is a great idea, though, and if there were a way to do this, we would incorporate it for sure!
