 * Hello,
 * Can you possibly create an option to create the static sitemaps (and dynamic
   sitemaps)?
 * Background info: I installed the plugin because it created static sitemap. Now,
   the latest version (1.0.8) creates sitemaps only dynamically (which is good for
   most use cases). Unfortunately, it means either to use an alternative plugin
   or fork it to maintain in a different branch locally. We prefer static sitemap
   generation, as dynamic sitemap generation would kill the performance on a traffic
   spike (and thus the memory which is very small in our VPS).
 * Thanks,
    Pothi

 * Hi sorry to say but I found there were way to many problems related with creating
   and maintaining static files (not only what’s been reported here in the support
   threads). And bugs/collisions with other plugins. So I’ve decided to completely
   abandon that idea, and wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole now 🙂
 * But have you tried using a caching plugin? That could be the solution, and would
   also improve performance greatly.

 * Thanks for the reply. I understand.
 * We use caching too (WPSC). However, it doesn’t cache the sitemap. Actually, it
   needs a sitemap in order to preload cache. For now, we are planning to fork it
   and maintain it internally, since it just worked well for our usecase.
 * Thanks again,
    Pothi
