[resolved] Feature Image delays on displaying on slideshow (2 posts)

    I used the featured image function to retrieve the feature image of the post so I may use it on a slideshow. It works how ever it delays on displaying the images. The image is not loading(at least I think its not) it just delays on displaying it. It does not delay like when a large image is loading and it is slow to load because of the size of the image. It seems as though the images are loaded just not display right away. I don't know whether it's the backend of WordPress or there is something wrong in my code.

    this is the code I use to retrieve the images for the slideshow:

    <div class="container">
      <div class="row">
        <div class="span12">
          <div id="heroCarousel" class="carousel slide">
          		<div class="loader"></div>
          <?php rewind_posts(); ?>
          	query_posts( array(
          		'post_type' => 'slideshow',
          		'showpost' => 3
          		) ); ?>
            <div class="carousel-inner">
            	<?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
                  <div class="item">
                    <a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>">
                    	<?php the_post_thumbnail( ); ?>
                      <!--<img src="<?php echo get_stylesheet_directory_uri();?>/images/1.png" alt="James Carousel Main v4 (homepage carousel only)">-->
    </a>              </div>
    <?php endwhile;?>
                  <!--<div class="item">
                    <a href="#">
                      <img src="<?php echo get_stylesheet_directory_uri();?>/images/2.png" alt="Sponsor a Child  (homepage carousel only)">
    </a>              </div>
                  <div class="item active">
                    <a href="#">
                      <img src="<?php echo get_stylesheet_directory_uri();?>/images/3.png" alt="Son of God (main page hero only)">
    </a>              </div>-->
            <!-- show controls if there is more than one slide -->
            <!-- Reset length > 1 after you remove countdown -->
            <a class="left carousel-control" href="<?php $url = home_url();echo $url;?>/#heroCarousel" data-slide="prev">‹</a>
            <a class="right carousel-control" href="<?php $url = home_url();echo $url;?>/#heroCarousel" data-slide="next">›</a>

    Here is the code I used for the support for featured image on the functions.php:
    add_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails' );

    I thought it was the js file i was using, but I have compressed the file already and it continues the same.

    The images are no bigger than 60kb so that's not it.
