  • Hi Rustaurius

Great plugin so far, but a couple of things I need to do and think would also benefit others.

1 Redirect user to another URL after submitting the form as this allows me to put the review form on its own page and keep the site clean.

2 Paginate the reviews ie 5, 10 or 15 reviews per page

Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

    Hi Mike,

    Thanks for the compliment!

Pagination is definitely something that we’re planning on adding in a big update scheduled to come out in early March.

We’ll look in to redirecting as well. The biggest problem I could see with it is that shortcodes get loaded after other page elements (page header, etc.), which means that the redirect would have to be added as the form’s action, and which would prevent checking that a review is submitted successfully before redirecting.

We could probably hook in a buffer to get around that, so it’s something we’ll look in to!

Also, the feature suggestions are super appreciated, thanks for being an active user!

Thanks for getting back so quickly.

Another suggestion would be an email or at least a notification within the admin area when a new review is added.

Those are both great ideas, which we’ll be sure to include in the update!

    Hello Rustaurius,

Thumbs-up for the top-notch review plugin you and your team have churned out!

Have been thinking… How can the shortcodes be used to activate/integrate the plugin to a woocommerce website?

Moreover, I believe it will serve a greater good if you endeavor to include detailed installation steps as to how the shortcodes can be effectively used to activate the premium version.

Looking forward to hearing from you in earnest. Thank you.

    Hey Mymuus,

Thanks for the suggestions. We’ve got an update coming out this week that will have an option to use integrate with WooCommerce, just by toggling the option, so make sure you let us know what you think of it!

We’re also planning on putting out a video, showing the basic shortcodes and features. Would that be along the lines of what you’re looking for?

Thanks for a good plugin. I hope you will continue development. Basically it can be really good, because it seems to be the best there is for Woocommerce.

A few ideas for better integration:
    1) better description on how to use shorttags. It was hard to figure out how to do shorttags for just one product.
    2) an option to include a summary of the ratings in the top of the reviews. Right now you just see a bunch of reviews and you have no idea what the average is. See http://screencast.com/t/qL10gu87 for inspiration.
    3) meta review for listing stars on Google results
    4) a shorttag for a product list that includes reviews information. It should be possible to choose if you want to show 2, 3 or 4 columns. Could look like http://screencast.com/t/0WeqoKF9xJWf
    5) a general help page with the shorttags and installation help

    Hi brangles,

Thanks for the feature suggestions! We’ve got an update coming out in a few hours that actually covers many of the suggestions you posted, so please let us know what you think after updating!

Cool, I’m looking forward to see the changes. However, the update produces fatal error 500 on all pages, front- and backend. Hope for a quick fix since there is no downgrade option.

    Hi brangles,

Thanks for letting us know. Update out (V1.0.1) that should correct the issue, apologies for any inconvenience.

Everything works now. Thanks for quick support and some nice new features.

One of the other review plugins I’ve tested allows me to designate a percentage “weight” to be applied to online reviews.

We use three-factor authentication for our reviews. Most of our reviews will be done in person where we can ID the reviewer and ensure they have purchased the product. These reviews should carry more weight than online reviews where we only verify an email address.

I’d like to see one setting where I can set one percentage weight value for online reviews and this will be used when calculating statistical summaries.

    We’re all rooting for you.

Weighting is an interesting idea. We’ll look in to implementing it next time we do a big update.

I second the motion for a page redirect to possibly a “Thank You” page upon submission, if at all possible. My testers identified this as their number one issue.

    Other suggestions were as follows:

    1. Review Title is not marked as mandatory (but it is mandatory). Mark all mandatory fields with an asterisk with a statement that says “fields marked with * are mandatory”
    2. Possible to submit a zero value for review? Some testers preferred this.
    3. Better if Product Name dropdown says “<select>” rather than defaulting to first product in list.
    4. Underneath the “Image Number” field, put “Type the number that appears in the image.” It confused a couple of users.
    5. When review submitted, all users would prefer “Thank You for submitting” page redirect.
    5. In the verification email, place quotes around review title, found in email text.
    6. When clicking on “Confirm your email address” link in verification email, a web page with a blank review opens. Perhaps that’s where a another “Thank you for validating your email” redirect would be helpful.

    And…that’s it.
