FCKeditor Problem

  • Newbie here. I’m trying to install the FCKeditor plugin but can’t see FCKeditor under my “Plugin Managementâ€?. I’ve unzipped and uploaded the FCKeditor files into a sub-directory I’ve created: /wordpress/wp-content/plugins/fckeditor/

(FWIW, I’ve successfully uploaded new ‘Themes’ which I can see under my ‘Presentation’ tab).

Is it okay to place a plug-in in a sub-directory or must all individual plugins be placed directly in ‘plugins’ (with no sub-directories)?

Must the “fckeditor.php file be directly in the ‘plugins’ directory? I’ve tried this but I still can’t see FCKeditor under “Plugin Management.

    Any ideas?

  • where can I donwload the plugin ? That way I can take a look :0

What on the fckeditor site made you think you could just drop it into the plugins dir on WP? I can’t see anything referencing WP support. OTOH, there’s a thread on integrating TinyMCE (another editor) into WP where a poster talks about the possibility of *integrating* fckeditor. Doesn’t sound like it’s as simple as tossing anything you downloaded from fckeditor.net into WP’s plugin dir.
