favorites text showing in excerpt

Hi,

I have this issue:
I’ve set the plugin to show favorites at posts only, but if the post doesn’t have a custom excerpt (so the blog page shows the first 40 words from the post) and is shorter than 40 words it shows the text ‘favorites x’ at the end of the post
(eg. ‘This is the first post. Say something nice. Favorites 5’ ), and is put between a <p></p> with the rest of the text, so nothing differentiates it from the text.

Even if I put a custom read more tag to somewhere in the post before 40 words the text will appear. Is there a way to remove this text?
