this plugin was previously abandoned, thus the download link is broke. You can grab it here:

    and see it action here:

This is not a bookmarking plugin – it allows the visitor, registered or not, logged in or not, to have a little box of saved links. The amount of links is configurable of course.

I made minor changes, removed ONE linkback that was broke, and rewrote the readme since it looked to be in Chinese when I grabbed it. I dont know about you, but my chinese sucks.

Other than that, I believe this is the original plugin. And I have to say, its pretty damn cool.

    Have fun.

  • This is working great!

However… I wonder if someone might help me with some alterations on the code.

Here’s what I’m wanting to do… instead of having simply the links for the favorite posts on the side bar, I’m wanting to show the entire entry.

I’m not that adept at JS and can’t figure out where it’s calling the links to replace it with the post content.

I think it’s somewhere in this:
    outlist1 = "»&nbsp;<a href=" + get('urls' + i) + ">" + get('links' + i) + "</a>&nbsp;<a title=\"Delete this Link\" href=javascript:delFavorites("+get('dels'+i)+")>[x]</a><br />" ;

Of course I would create a whole “favorites PAGE” to display this instead of in the sidebar.

If I do figure it out I’ll post how I did it here.

    Thanks again!

    I figured it out.

It was actually pretty complicated… a bit too much to explain here… but if you’d like to know how, I will gladly email you altered files.

Is it working by cookies? how can we turn the cookie based to user based?

Yes, it was working by cookies, and now is broken.

Does ANYONE know how to do this by user instead of cookies??? It’s done on the forums… why not on WP?

Im not going to make that change, so please dont use this thread to discuss it. 🙂 thanks..

bbpress is forum software. similar capabilities exist in other forum software, namely vbulletin and phpBB. “Bookmarking” of forum threads serves a rather functional purpose.

as for it not working, you haven’t provided enough info – you haven’t even provided a place where anyone else can see that its not working.

WHAT doesn’t work? And since you have made modifications .. well …

The only code in what is available on my site that depends on wordpress is the bit that gets the permalink.
