Favicons and Permalinks

  • I’ve changed my site to permalinks and now the favicon only appears on the main page. Does anyone know why? I’ve run other sites with similar set ups and not encountered this problem so i’m at a loss.

    Here’s the code i’m using.
    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="images/favicon.ico" />

    Thanks

    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="images/favicon.ico" />

    path 101.

    Think about what you just said.

    Lets assume your permalink url is this:

    http://www.blah.com/mything/mypost

    where is the server looking for that image?

    How about here:

    http://www.blah.com/mything/mypost/images/favicon.ico

    In other words, youre using a relative url to define where that image is.

    Use the full URL to the image

    OR place a / before that relative url.

    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="/images/favicon.ico" />
