favicon not showing in Firefox

    My favicon shows in IE (after favoriting it) but the favicon does not show up in Firefox (or Netscape)

    How do I get it to show up in Firefox.

    I’ve tried so many different ways including:

    //<link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”URL/favicon.ico” type=”image/vnd.microsoft.icon”/>//

    //<LINK href=”URL/favicon.ico” rel=”SHORTCUT ICON”>//

    //<link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”favicon.ico”>//

    //<link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”<?php bloginfo(‘template_directory’); ?>location/favicon.ico” type=”image/vnd.microsoft.icon” /> //

    //<?php wp_head(); ?>
    <link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”URL/favicon.ico” />//

    //<link rel=”Shortcut Icon” href=”<?php echo get_settings(’home’);?>/Location/favicon.ico” type=”image/x-icon” />//

    I also tried Favicon Manager plugin.
    There must be something I’m missing.
    Anyone have any other suggestions?

    <link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”favicon.ico” /> should do it.

    Have you just added the favicon? You shouldn’t have to do anything but wait. I can see the favicon in the site in your profile (using FF). Is that the one?

    thanks for replying. I’m glad you can see it in firefox. It is stripes of purple orange white etc. hmmm. I wonder if it is just my personal settings on ff? But I can see other sites’ favicons. I’ll try your idea.

    That’s the one I’m seeing. It seems to be working fine.

    1. Thanks. I’m just up feeding her. I never would have believed the day would come that I’d fall asleep at 6:30PM on a Saturday evening watching Star Trek Next Generation. I remember when I’d have to stay up until 3AM before I’d feel this tired.

    2. I thought that if you had a site listed in your profile your profile name would be linked, but obviously not.

    Also, if you’re still not seeing your favicon have you tried clearing your cache and deleting your viewing history in Firefox?

    2) initially, the link is disabled. At some point it works, but I’m not sure if it is time related or number of posts. As you might guess, however, the idea is to help control the spammers.
