Favicon for multi browsers and mobile (iPad, iPhone) How to?

    Hi,

    i am creating 3 websites and now i came across with the favicon issue, becuse the 16×16 doesn’t work for the new devices like the iPad.
    i know how to generate a multiple size favicon but it will be a lot of weight for it.

    I was wondering if any of you had a simple fix for multiple favicons sizes and how do you do so that from bookmaks in the IPad to the 16x16px all the icons get served per device nicely, and how do you do it.

    I’ve been looking at plugins but none quite fits the needs to serve favicons to iPad, iPhone and also for browser like Opera (the biggest icon) Firefox or the regular 16×16

    Anyone had to deal with this and found a solution?
