[Resolved] Fatal Out of Memory Error on Image Upload

    I believe this is a theme problem, but am unsure. I’m having a consistent image upload problem when using Impreza theme (http://themeforest.net/item/impreza-retina-responsive-wordpress-theme/6434280) and The Events Calendar (also, the same problem occurs when using Event Organizer instead).

    I get an error whenever I upload medium to large-sized jpegs (but not when uploading small images like icon pngs or jpegs):

    Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 25165824) (tried to allocate 4096 bytes) in /homepages/39/d357900950/htdocs/wp-includes/media.php on line 1288

    I tried default themes with either of the events plugin activated and have no problems. I also tried increasing memory allocation in wp-config file without success:

    define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M');

    I’m running WP 3.8.1 with Impreza 1.2.2 on PHP 5.5 host (1and1). Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

    One issue to note is that, for security purposes, I’ve modified both the MySQL table prefixes and the name of the wp-content folder.

    I forgot to mention that I disabled all other plugins except the calendar and still had the same problem.

    I finally found a solution: I was trying a php.ini file at the root and in the wp-includes folder since that was the path mentioned in the error. Neither worked.

    Then I placed the php.ini file in the wp-admin folder and that worked, but only for small to medium sized images.

    I still can’t upload a large image such as a 2.5MB jpg.

    Though it’s low priority since the site shouldn’t use images that large anyway, any ideas on how to allow large images is much appreciated.

    That sounds like a hosting issue and really a question to pose to your hosting service provider (or on a more general forum that this one, which is specifically for issues with The Events Calendar).
