    Hi

I have a client who has three sites on his account each using SG Optimizer. I have been having an issue since the 5.0.4 update. The plugin installs but will not activate.

Getting error (some of parts omitted for privacy):

Fatal error: Can’t use method return value in write context in /home/(user)/public_html/(site root folder)/wp-content/plugins/sg-cachepress/core/Admin/Admin.php on line 25

I have tried updating to 5.0.5 and today with 5.0.6 and still get errors when trying to activate.

I tried also removing the plugin folder and doing and fresh install to 5.0.5 but still got stuck with activate. However, I have not tried that today to 5.0.6

You are using an old PHP version for your site. Please, switch to PHP 5.6 at least and everything will work just fine. You can do this from the PHP Version Manager tool in cPanel.

    Hi,

Having an issue activating your plugin:

Fatal error: Can’t use method return value in write context in /var/www/vhosts/(site).ie/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/sg-cachepress/core/Admin/Admin.php on line 28

    Line 28 reads: Line 28: if ( empty( $this->modules->get_active_tabs() ) ) {

    Can you advise?

    Thanks

From the folder structure I can see that you’re not on a SiteGround account. The plugin won’t work on local host or other histing company.

Thanks for your reply… Any suggestions of how I can update the PHP version to either 5.6 or to 7.0 or 7.1, without SG?
    Thanks

Hi! I’ve used SG in my site today and all is down. I can’t open my access to my homepage on wordpress. How can I back to previous situation before the installed SG?

Well I’ve checked your site and you are using Aruba, while this plugin works on SiteGround hosting environment only.

Please delete the plugin folder and your site should work

I would to cancel the plugin, but I can’t made the login on WordPress!

Log into your hosting and use file manager to the plugins directory. You can either delete or rename that folder. This should allow you to get back into WordPress.

i cant activate SG Optimizer can you help me to solve the problem, this the message of error:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
The SG Optimizer plugin is designed to work only on SiteGround Servers. We’ve deactivated it because it may render your site blank if used on another environment.
