• Not sure what version we are using, and I cannot get on to verify, but I do not believe we had upgraded to 3.0 yet. Website has been up and running 1-2 years, and today we got a fatal error Call to undefined function is_multisite() in D:\Hosting\2633782\html\wp-includes\wp-db.php on line 505. I find that error referenced in several posts, and it seems to be around automatic upgrading to 3.0. Wondered why we would have just gotten that error, and if the fix is to manually upgrade to 3.0. Any helpful information or suggestions? Thanks!

  • is_multisite() is a WordPress 3x function – so it sounds like someone tried to upgrade the site. Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    – re-running the upgrade manually using /wp-admin/upgrade.php.
