I could make the update normally, but a few minutes later the site was down with an error 500. I deleted the Security folder via FTP and the site came back. I tried to reinstall the plugin but no way. I got:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘/’, expecting ‘,’ or ‘;’ in /var/www/vhosts/precaution.ch/httpdocs/wp/wp-content/plugins/security-malware-firewall/lib/SpbcScannerH.php on line 6

I have installed the update on several other blogs without problem. This one is using an old theme (albeit with WordPress 4.9.5 and everything else up to date).

We’ll revise the code of the plugin and fix this issue.

    Hello,

    Thank you for the feedback!
The issue was in PHP versions compatibility. I suggest that one of your websites runs on old PHP.
Anyway, we have fixed that. Please, update the plugin to 2.10.1 version.

Please, contact us if you have questions.

    Hello @safronik,

Thank you! It works now. And you’re right, this blog was still using an old PHP version. I must have forgotten that one. I now updated it to PHP 7.0.

    Best regards,
    Alain
