Support » Fixing WordPress » Fatal Error- whole database is lost!

  • Hi, this is a nightmare, i didn’t touch anything, but when i logged in this morning i simply saw the hell:

    WordPress database error: [Can’t create/write to file ‘/tmp/#sql_6843_0.MYI’ (Errcode: 13)]
    SELECT DISTINCT * FROM wp_posts WHERE 1=1 AND post_date_gmt <= ‘2006-07-02 16:49:59’ AND (post_status = “publish” OR post_author = 1 AND post_status != ‘draft’ AND post_status != ‘static’) AND post_status != “attachment” GROUP BY wp_posts.ID ORDER BY post_date DESC LIMIT 0, 15

    Why is that, where this trouble is coming from, how can i solve it? thanks, i’m looking forward to hear from you.

  • Errcode 13 is a generic error thrown by MySQL. It’s not a WordPress specific error.
    So ask your host if they did anything to the database.

    thanks, nagul, you think is there any chance to recover my archive??? this so annoying…

    Your host should be able to recover it.

    (If they can’t, I suggest looking for another host, with decent support)

    Yeh, most (good) hosts should be able to recover your sql, remeber though sometimes they dont put back on the user name and password accoaited, so make sure you create a user name and password which is exactly the same as the username and password shown in your wp-config.php file.

    This is a simple one for the host to fix; it’s related to space on the server’s hard drive, or lack thereof. I’ve yet to run across a host (OTHER than GoDaddy and Yahoo) which isn’t able to do this in about 5 seconds.
