  • Hi, haitonesia, & welcome. If you have a caching plugin, please try disabling it. Also, please disable/clear your cache. If you’re still having problems, please install WordPress manually by uploading the files to your web root folder.

    Also, it’d be really helpful if you’d provide a site url.

    Please let us know if you require additional help.

    Hi, again, haitonesia. Please open your wp-config.php file & make sure that there is no line that begins w/the following:
    define( ‘WP_CACHE’, true );
    If there is, please change the ‘true’ to ‘false’, resave your changes, clear your browser cache, & try visiting the site again.

    Please let us know how this goes. & thanks for the site url.

    Hello, haitonesia. Please disable all plugins, change wp-cache to false in your wp-config.php file, & try logging into your dashboard. At that point, at least temporarily, please activate a default theme (they begin w/the word twenty), & try to upgrade again. Please also try wp-login.php as an alternate to wp-admin as well. If you’re still unable to log into your dashboard after disabling plugins, please let us know.

    Disable these Plugins by renaming it in wp-content/plugins (eg. make a ~ before the folder name tempararil). Login to WordPress. Make suggested database update. Undo renaming

    ~w3-total-cache
    ~wordfence
    ~sucuri-scanner

    Had the same problem. I just disabled the w3-total-cache as instructed above > ~w3-total-cache

    Then i disabled /wp-content/object-cache.php in the same way > ~object-cache.php

    Then when I enabled w3-total-cache by removing the ~ again, it automatically created a new object-cache.php file and everything worked fine!

    Hope this helps others getting the following error!

    Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on null in /public_html/wp-content/object-cache.php on line 51

    Dear All,

    I have the same problem for 2 weeks now and clearly have no idea how to fix this.

    I’ve disable all plugins, but nothing works.

    I’ve downgraded my wordpress to 4.5.4 and use this plugin Disable Automatically WordPress Update to block all automatic update to my site.

    Then I found this thread, and followed the instruction above:
    I changed the wp-cache to false in my wp-config.php file

    It seemed to works, but apparently I’m the only person who see the website runs normal, because when I asked my friends to browse and visit my website: Myfunfoodiary.com, the website appears empty blank white page with shows this error message: “Fatal error: Call to undefined function apply_filters() in /home1/wabt240aa7b2/public_html/wp-includes/load.php on line 316”

    someone help me..

    Hello,

    I had the same problem.

    I edited wp-config.php and change wp_cache value to false, then I rewrite /wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cahe to /wp-content/plugins/_w3-total-cahe

    After this changes, was fine.

    Thank all for your time and experience.

    Help, my site is down and I’m getting the following:

    Fatal error: Call to a member function add_global_groups() on a non-object in /home/content/36/9253436/html/wp-content/object-cache.php on line 144

    I’m not able to login, and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
    Thx

    Hello, lizvoss, & welcome. It were really better if you’d start your own topic regarding your difficulty, as this thread has been marked ‘resolved’. The only reason I saw it was simply because I either forgot, or was too lazy, to unsubscribe from it. I’d strongly advise you to begin your own thread, but feel free to post a link back here if you’d like me to take a look.

    This sounds, however, like a caching plugin issue. Are you using any sort of caching plugin such as w3-total-cache or wp-supercache, or similar? If so, you should inactivate the plugin by renaming it. Appending a 1 or a .old to the folder name using either secure file transfer, such as that found in the Filezilla FTP client, or your hosting provider’s file manager, can accomplish this. Next, please open your wp-config.php file & change the true to false in the following line, leaving the end punctuation marks intact. :
    define( ‘WP_CACHE’, true );
    will look like:
    define( ‘WP_CACHE’, false );

    Lastly, please find object-cache.php in your wp-content folder & rename it, i.e., object-cache.ph1. Clear your browser’s cache & cookies & try logging in again. Please let us know how this goes–in your own thread, if you’d be so kind.
