Support » Plugin: Job Manager » Fatal Error when clicking Submit button from application

  • Hi,

    Here is page on the site in question: http://renewanation.org/jobs/apply/9798/

    When I click on the Submit button after filling out the application, I get this error:

    Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'phpmailerException' with message 'Invalid address: (setFrom) Smith' in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas10_data02/21/3605621/html/wp-includes/class-phpmailer.php:1023 Stack trace: #0 /home/content/p3pnexwpnas10_data02/21/3605621/html/wp-includes/pluggable.php(352): PHPMailer->setFrom('Smith', 'Advertisement M...', false) #1 /home/content/p3pnexwpnas10_data02/21/3605621/html/wp-content/plugins/job-manager/frontend-application.php(976): wp_mail('webmaster@renew...', 'Job Application...', 'Application Lin...', 'From: "Advertis...') #2 /home/content/p3pnexwpnas10_data02/21/3605621/html/wp-content/plugins/job-manager/frontend-application.php(644): jobman_email_application(9813) #3 /home/content/p3pnexwpnas10_data02/21/3605621/html/wp-content/plugins/job-manager/frontend-application.php(30): jobman_store_application(9798, NULL) #4 /home/content/p3pnexwpnas10_data02/21/3605621/html/wp-content/plugins/job-manager/frontend.php(245): jobman_display_apply(9798) #5 [internal function]: jobman_display_jobs(Ar in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas10_data02/21/3605621/html/wp-includes/class-phpmailer.php on line 1023

    I have no idea what this means.

    Also, possibly related or not (I’m not sure), the Applications tab in the backend displays very alarming vertical walls of text (here is a screenshot: http://imgur.com/a/kdPvG).

    If someone can help me I will be very grateful. Thank you very much.

  • For your second issue, the backend Applications – you should remove some of those fields from “Show in Application List?” in the Application Settings. I doubt you need to filter applications with every single field, so remove a few. It should help clean up the filters a lot.

    Anyone?

    First Issue: That appears to be either a plugin and or theme conflict.
    You can check that here: http://www.wp-jobmanager.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-a-theme-plugin-conflict/

    For the “vertical walls” issue. You have too many Fields showing in the Application List- You don’t need to view all of these the Form Data on the backend is a defined width and checking every Field to display in the Application List will do this.
